The gates were opened exactly at 10:00 o'clock for the Garching Con 2001. Like each year the meeting finds active interest by the Perry Rhodan fans, accordingly was the crush at the card sales, shortly after the initialization. However altogether only scarcely 300 guests were present, substantially fewer than 1998.

Almost already traditionally at the Con in Garching the presents of the different dealers and Perry Rhodan fan clubs. This year the Perry Rhodan online club is the official co-organizer and therefore represented in strong occupation.

A few certain editors and fans of the BHG seemed to be somewhat tiredly and attacked after a probably very long night with few sleep. Nevertheless they started working immediately.

Since also the PROC is co-organizer, Nils Hirseland may address a few words to the guests.

After the official initialization speech by the first mayor of the city Garching and the greetings by Klaus Bollhöfener and Nils Hirseland, as representative of the PROC, followed the emittance of the short version of the PROC Perry Rhodan video. For the video, the draws cut and the animation draw the PROC Render team, which prepared in many months of intensive work for the radiant emittance of the video. The Mannheimer table reserved for regulars made the sound effects, the synchronisation came from Project P. The video was commentated with much ovationes and rejoicing calls, very much to the joy of the Render team and the PROC active ones and all organizers.

Afterwards followed the invasion of the authors, who affected briefly something lost on the stage, but thereafter Klaus N. Frich held a small speech and presented all authors again. Whereupon an honour with presentation of burned out cell activators followed by Ennox or Munich table reserved for regulars.

All Stars of the Con on a view!

Already on Friday Arndt Ellmer examined the structure work of the PROC actives. Arndt showed us with much understanding of a drawer that the authors are on the newest status concerning Internet and assigned, productive software.

Also old master H. G. Ewers was impressed of the Internet activities of the PROC. The well-known Perry Rhodan author promised to examine the supply of the PROC online as soon as possible.

Rainer Castor, already regularly guest on the pages of the PROC, expressed its acknowledgment for the work and the demonstrated application for Fandom. For Rainer Castor the medium Internet already is a tool, which he uses daily. 

Also Robert Feldhoff, author and responsible for the Exposé of the series, visited the PROC team. Robert was impressed by the possibilities of the animation technique, which flowed into the new PROC video. Apart from the demonstration of the video also a Renderworkshop is offered by the actives of the PROC. Robert welcomes the activities of the Fandom and informed themself extensively about the supply and the subprojects of the PROC like i.e. DORGON and VITHAU.

The first novel of VITHAU was completely officially presented also on this Saturday and placed in the network. It carries the title "Departure of the Manjarden" and was written by Thomas Rabenstein. Also the PROC Shop was inaugurated on this day, even if it is not yet completely finished. The work on the camera ran still unsuccessfully.

First information to the planned PERRY RHODAN TV serial have been abandoned in a question hour by the company MME represented by Kris Karathomas, Marcus Rosenmüller and Eckhard Schwettmann and the PR author Robert Feldhoff. The question hour was moderated by Robert Vogel.

 The most important points were: 

Ø     It will be a mini series, which lasts 3 x 90 min.

Ø      Based characters in the mini series will be in any case: Perry Rhodan, Bully, Atlan and Gucky.

Ø      New characters will be created, which are based however on well-known persons.

Ø      The occupation of the characters is not certain up to now.

Ø      It will not be filmed a complete cycle, but certain action paragraph and conflicts used, from which a new action is knitted.

Ø      The series will be also marked out internationally, they however want to try to produce the majority of the series in Germany.

Ø      At the moment the series is into the Pre Productionsphase, ie. at present still partners are looked up.

Subsequently, it gave then still a few slides, on which first Design studies were shown, among other things Kugelraumer, space suits and persons.

Which for the fans was surely interesting, for the organizers had been somewhat nerve-racking. The point of program over the PR film had covered 45 minutes. In all hurry and time pressure began now the Quiz, which was moderated by Stefan Friedrich and Nils Hirseland. Those altogether 13 candidates played in "everyone against each" mode against each other until only eight users were remaining. Afterwards it went into the quarter final. There two groups of two each played against each other. The halfmost final got then a heavy question, which they have to solve up to the semi-final in the evening. The question is: "Which means Karahol and from which language does it come?".

Stefan Friedrich and Nils Hirseland moderated the first round. Completely outside Alexander Kaiser declines after a heavy question, nevertheless he still became second winner of the Quiz.

After the first Quiz rounds there was one point of program over the Mars Society Project. Meanwhile the four half finalists looked desperately  for the solution in Rauscher's second-hand bookshop. Even Rainer Castor could not help, but however give a tip Alex Kaiser at all found this heavy question so merry and wanted to choke the moderators at their neck, but his team partner Roland Triankowski already was near to the solution.

Meanwhile the discussions with the authors took place in the small rooms. In the large hall Thorsten Eyrich and Nils Hirseland presented the PROC and showed the animation video in full length, which the fans liked very much.

Now were the authors to line up! The authors placed themselves one hour long to the questions of the fans, thus i. e. "When does the Dimesexta engine return?" The response: "Never, but because of you it will return in booklet 3176 or so". The round ran amusingly and represented one of the high points of the Con. 

Afterwards the authors and draughtsman withdrew themselves to the meal and the final of the Quiz started. In the long run Roland Triankowski triumped before his friend and club colleague of the BHG Alexander Kaiser. There were prices like a PERRY RHODAN years abo, TRAVERSAN books, PROC Package, radio plays, PR flag and much more.

Afterwards the Bavarian broadcast brought still another interesting transmission. In the evening then the whole active ones and fan distributed themselves. The Rabensteins and Rainer Schwippl withdrew themselves into the hotel, the DORGON authors went eating and afterwards in the large PROC group into the author hotel.

The last PROC'ler met in the author hotel around Ralph Voltz and his wife Laura, who conversed lively with the German fans and put so our English knowledge to the test. 

The authors celebrated omitted in cosy round with the fans until deep into the night and let so the main day of the Con come to an end. Probably it has gone until 4 o'clock.
